A Happy Photographer

You know, people saying this to me always seemed especially funny since my camera was really nothing special. I have been, until now, using a Canon 10D (well...for digital photos anyway). This is an old camera and Canon has figured out a lot since making this little gem. I only had 5 ISO options (100-200-400-800-1600) and the noise above 400 was so awful it made it completely worthless. It is slow, low resolution, and in just about every way extremely frustrating. It seemed like every shot required me 'working around my camera'. But you know what? It worked, and we had some good moments together.

But today - it has officially been demoted to my back-up body because I finally got a new camera!

I am not going to lie, I kinda wish this was a 5D Mark II (or even its predecessor). Unfortunately I don't have that kind of cash and this was the next best thing - and it is a great little camera. I love it.

Now I just need a few new lenses and then I will be set (too bad they cost more than this camera...grrr, the life of a photographer. Seriously.)

  1. Wow, that is so exciting! I can't wait to get a new camera someday, I hate mine! (Of course, it's a low-end, non-fancy inexpensive piece of junk, so I got what I paid for) Some day I will get a "real" camera...

  2. Jen - check ebay! So many new camera models are coming out, and the ones they are replacing in my opinion are still really good. People are always so quick to get the newest thing so you might be able to find used ones for a decent price :)
