Have I mentioned lately how much I love Berlin? Taking a walk at sunrise in Autumn and its like falling in love with this city all over again.

Vino

Someday I will visit Napa Valley, California, Bordeaux, France and Tuscany, Italy. I would at least like to visit the Mosel wine regions here in Germany. I love the way vineyards look in the Autumn, the combination of colors is just gorgeous - the browns from the vines, the greens, yellows and reds from the leaves and the deep purple and blue hues from the grapes.
These Merlot Grapes were growing in the terraced vineyard behind Sanssouci Palace, the summer palace of Frederick the Great. Supposedly they still harvest and make wine from these grapes , which would be fun to try.
This print is a now available in my Etsy shop! I am trying to make some note cards and similar items as well, look for something soon :)

Autumn love

I love this time of year. Once I get over the loss of summer I love Autumn wholeheartedly. There are so many good things to eat, such beautiful colors on the trees, cool crisp autumn air....oh wait, except in Berlin we skipped that part and went straight to freezing bitter cold winter air. Its the coldest October ever on record here. Lets hope that is not a trend that stays with us during the winter.
I feel like I talk about the weather alot...I guess its just a big part of life, especially when you are not in the protection of a vehicle as you make your way about town. It really sucks when its cold and raining and you need to be somewhere and actually need to still look nice when you arrive. I love not having a car. LOVE IT. Really, I do. But - it really makes you more concerned with the weather.
Oh, and these prints you see are available (of course) in my etsy shop!

The View

Watching the evening sky really never gets boring.
And guess what? I started an Etsy store! Ok, so I started it a couple of weeks ago but I am just starting to get it running smoothly. If you are unfamiliar Etsy is an online marketplace where artists and crafters can sell their wares. I much prefer it to some of the other sites I have tried for selling images online. I hope to expand my selection soon, and even get some cool products up there in time for Christmas in addition to just prints. I added a link on the sidebar or you can check it out by going here:

We have had some insanely beautiful days lately, with just a hint that autumn has arrived. On Sunday we went and walked around Tiergarten and enjoyed the perfect temperatures and sunny skies. On Monday it was cold and cloudy, I am glad we got out and enjoyed it.

Transition

I kind of have a thing for chairs. Don't know what thats about. I found this beautiful scene at an abandoned hospital outside of Berlin. Its like a playground for photographers. Movie directors love it too, I believe its been used in a multitude of films.
I have been trying to focus lately on where I draw my inspiration and trying to find my "eye". It has been a frustrating enterprise - but it must have something to do with the changing season. I am having a hard time letting go of summer. I feel like every year at this time I have to go through a grieving process.

I am also a busy little bee this week working on getting some cool stuff off the ground that I can't wait to tell you about.
Look for an announcement soon!
